You know Kevin has other interests then just working out... I think that's a good thing. If it wasn't for him I doubt many people would even be working out right now. I personally think after the years he has put into the show he can do whatever the hell he wants.

Someone on the show mentioned non-fitness podcasts where they just discuss random stuff. I recently discovered that Adam Carolla has a podcast, and it couldn't be more random or funnier.

I haven't listened to this episode yet, but if you are going to put in sounds that people have to guess, can you at least put in something that someone with a life would have heard. Stargate, sheesh, is this the nerdcast?

The sound in the off topic discussion is from Stargate when they activate the gate.

For Lynda,

As someone who went back to school in my 30's as well (although you're obviously in better shape than I was!) I would add a couple of comments to the Fitcast Crew's.

Early morning workouts - I'm a morning person, and found a couple of benefits to working out at that time. Number one, no "meatheads". People that get up early must be serious about training, so you're less likely to see the guys looking for a "pickup". Number two, fewer people. College weightrooms can get pretty busy, especially right after class, but it's usually empty in the morning.

As for finding a training partner - it took me about two weeks to figure out who was serious and who wasn't, and I found a partner that I worked out with for two years. Like the crew said, show up to the weightroom and keep your eyes open - you'll identify prospective partners fairly quickly.

You may want to watch for tan lines on the ring finger, too - married guys at a college gym are either serious about training or serious about picking up girls, and if it's the latter you'll see it fairly quickly.

Just a couple of thoughts - all the best with school!
