I wont speak for Kevin but I think both me and him were talking about it in terms of the full strength program and the high volume of doing that aspect of the program.

It is a valid statement you make though, but I think it is more a different view me and Kevin were making on the program he had just finished in relation to fat loss. Even that I said you could do it, but it may be to taxing.

I agree with Mark. I'm using a two day per week 5/3/1 program for fat loss right now with some great results so far. Instead of the 5 sets of 10 for the accessory work, I'm doing some short, lower volume timed circuits. My lifts are still going up, and my weight is coming down. I love it.

I'm going to have to disagree with the comments about 5/3/1 not being suited for fat loss because it's so high volume. The fact is that 5/3/1 is utterly scalable to whatever you want to do. Did you read the sample setup called "I'm Not Doing Jack Shit?" That's the ultimate in low volume - just your main lift for the day, and that's it. Hell, the highest volume on the main lift is only 3x5. What's high volume about that? In addition, all of the accessory work can be scaled. Just because it says you can do up to 5 sets doesn't mean that you have to do 5 sets.

So, yeah....sorry, but I have to disagree with the comments about this program.
