I hear you about students not LEARNING at college. I’m in no way a “Health Science Major”–and I’m sure we don’t have that option as a major here (at least not on this UMass campus). I am an English major–and seeing kids who blow off school, party all the time and are okay with getting C’s in order to get their degree is annoying. Especially because it seems some courses (mostly 100-300 level) are being dumbed down to fit the laziness of the majority of the student body–most notably courses that are gen ed requirement-fillers.

Hey Bryan,

The Health Science Major, with concentration in Health promotion and Fitness. More or less all of these students want to become trainers.

Health Science Majors? Kevin, they don’t want to be trainers. They want to be doctors .

Personally, I think it’s that way because it’s too easy to become a “personal trainer”. Both in terms of getting a job as one, and getting certified as one.
