Cor blimey Guv’nor, or Hi Kevin,
I’m a long time listener and obviously enjoy the podcast.

Just a quick (re)intro as I have emailed you a couple of times before. I am a drug free Powerlifter who competes at World level. I have also been involved in the fitness industry since 1985, training mostly general public but also some sports people.

Here’s my observation -I like Mike Boyle, I listen to him on the strength coach podcast and he’s always entertaining but he periodically seems to have moment where he goes off the deepend.

A couple of years ago he said how Jason Ferrugia had shown him the error of his ways and that he needed to cut his athletes volume -no shit! If they’re training god knows how many hours then you have to be careful of volume. Mike said this like it was a moment of epiphany for him. Sounded damn obvious to me!

And now he’s really lost it and stopped his athletes from Squatting; if I were coaching his rivals I’d be rubbing my hands with glee. The only evidence I’ll offer is that the most powerful sporting nation of all time, the Soviet Union, had their athletes Squatting, front and back!

I’m in the States in March training at Westside, I’ll have to run this one past Louie:)

Seriously Kevin, I’m sure you’ll get a lot out of working with Mr Boyle, he’s a very smart man but look at what others are doing also. On the last podcast you sounded a little like you were born again.

Keep up the great work; I really appreciate what you and others are doing.

    Kind Regards,
    Chris Young,
