Want To Maximize Your Results? This is What You Need (Part I)
You know why health clubs and commercial gyms suck? Oh let me count the ways:
1. Dudes wearing Tap-Out Shirts
(Hey sexy, do you know where the speed bag is? I got to do my MMA program)
2. Trainers That Have the IQ of Paris Hilton’s Handbags
(My bag multitasks, it holds my dog and his poopies)
3. Music that was Picked Out by a 12-Year Old Girl
(I would rather be punched in the balls multiple times by Mike Tyson than hear the Black Eyed Peas sing their version of, “Time of Your Life” again)
Part #1: Music that Doesn’t Suck
So, with all of that being said, one thing you can do to get your mind right before lifting is to have some great music to listen to. It is a must. Today I am going to give you some new music to load on to your MP3 player. From, what Eric Cressey likes to classify as, “My mother never loved me,” music, to some techno tracks that have a beat that will have you nodding your head in between sets.
Rise Against- Endgame
First up is Rise Against’s new CD, “Endgame.” These guys bring it every single time they release a new album. The first single, “Help is on It’s Way,” will be at the top of my playlist for max effort lifts these next few weeks.
If you are new to Rise Against, you can’t go wrong checking out some of their older CD’s as well.
– Help is on it’s Way
– Make it Stop
DMX- Greatest Hits With a Twist Do you hear that barking??? WHAAT!?!
This is the ultimate DMX CD. Yes, the guy is in and out of jail all of the time for doing horrible things, but damn his music is good. Putting on, “X Gon’ give it to Ya,” will just get you fired up, plain and simple.
– Ruff Riders Anthem
– What’s My Name?
– X Gon’ give it to Ya
– Where the Hood At?
Beastie Boys- Solid Gold Hits
Do I really need to explain this one?
– So What Cha Want?
– No Sleep Till Brooklyn
Daft Punk- Tron Legacy Soundtrack
This soundtrack is f**king awesome. Period. Great electronic/techno music from one of the best duos in the music world.
– The Game Has Change
– End of Line
Also, Oliva Wilde is pretty awesome in Tron Legacy…
The Strokes- Angles
This is one of the best albums of 2011 so far. The Strokes are back and better than ever with their new CD titled, “Angles.” Although this isn’t as hard core as the other CD’s in this list, it is still great for conditioning and warm ups.
– Machu Picchu
– Under the Cover of Darkness
– Two Kinds of Happiness
There you go, four CDs that you can pick up to help create the ideal atmosphere.
The last thing I am going to mention regards to music is Pandora and it’s premium service, “Pandora ONE.” If you have an iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android device, you got to have Pandora on it. That along with Pandora ONE (which gives you better quality audio and more skips) is really the ultimate setup. You can just type in an artist (such as…DMX) and get a continuous stream of music. Trust me, it is worth every penny.
